On Wellness

This excerpt comprises the introduction to a forty-page proposal for corporate wellness plans...

The concepts that follow represent the logical conclusion of 40 millennia of social and environmental “progress.” If not for recent dramatic technological breakthroughs, much of that progress could well have comprised the foundation of human extinction. While as a species we have remained fundamentally and biologically unchanged over 400 centuries, we have in that time dramatically remade the world around us – and while many of those changes have allowed human beings to coexist in the billions, they have also steadily diminished the health and quality of life of virtually every one of those billions.

This trend away from vitality describes an inverse curve that is countered by catastrophic rises in the rates of chronic and terminal disease of every system and organ of the body. Although our complex and highly advanced medical industries have made great strides in attempting to cope with this malignant tide, the very dysfunction of that industrial model is now brokering its undoing and fueling the predictions of its imminent collapse.

At the same time, breaking news that has emerged in medical research within the last decade now stands poised to transform human health, morbidity and death as we know it. Contemporary medical modalities that offer sick-care support structures while addressing neither curative nor preventative sciences are now in their last years of realistic viability. Moving into the vacuum left by contemporary medical shortfall is the exploding wellness movement that lies at the heart of this document.

The pages that follow will detail the manner in which this revolution is set to unfold, and the manner in which every American citizen and every American institution (both public and private) will feel its effect. They will be the forward-thinking, leadership driven institutions that first benefit from this revolution, but even the most reactionary, slowest-moving firms will eventually find themselves moving to conform with these new, proactive modalities.

It is the purpose of this document to offer that first visionary step to those firms that exhibit nothing more than the initiative and the will to move in the direction of new opportunity. The step reveals itself in a dynamic win:win paradigm that, viewed from every angle, fails to show a downside.

It’s our pleasure to extend this invitation to your firm, both in thanks for your time and consideration, and in anticipation of a lasting partnership in good health, rising productivity and prosperity.
